交流内容简介：The role of CEO affects in shaping corporate ESG performance remains underexplored. Drawing on panel data from 35,078 firm-year observations (2010–2022), this study examines the nonlinear relationship between CEO affects and ESG outcomes. Results reveal an inverted U-shaped relationship between CEO positive affects and ESG performance—moderate positivity promotes ESG, while excessive positivity hinders it. CEO negative affects are found to negatively impact ESG performance. Moreover, media pressure moderates these effects by intensifying the negative influence of CEO negativity and buffering the adverse effects of excessive positivity. These findings deepen our understanding of CEO psychology in ESG strategy.
